What is OCI?
The Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Scheme is a special registration facility introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs in June 2000. It offers overseas Indians, who were earlier citizens of India, an opportunity to re-register themselves as Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). In other words, OCI Cardholders are those persons who were holding any type of Indian Passport before and during 19th December 2005. As per The Citizenship Act 1955, Persons who hold OCI Cards are eligible for various types of benefits under different schemes run by the Central Government. These include Exemption from reporting at Immigration Check Posts (ICPs), relaxation in visa norms across different countries, and eligibility for purchasing property in India.
What are the Procedures?
In order to apply for an Indian business visa, you will need to book a medical examination at one of our medical facilities and make an appointment at our office with an accredited travel agency. Once your appointment is confirmed, you will be required to attend your medical examination in person. All applicants are required to undergo a mandatory HIV test which is included in our $100 visa service fee. Once all paperwork has been reviewed by our healthcare team, you will be issued a letter stating that your application has been approved or denied. If approved, your medical examination certificate must then be forwarded directly to our head office via post/courier before final processing can take place. Application Process – Steps 1 to 5
Step 1 – Submit a visa application at least three months before your trip. If you’re in a rush, you can submit it at least 15 days before departure. You need two passport-size photographs and copies of your US driver’s license or other identification documents such as birth certificate, green card, or passport. In some cases, you may be asked to submit fingerprints during an interview with a consular officer.

Once you have decided to come on a business visit, you will need to get an application form. The visa form is different for each type of visa. Form F is used by applicants who intend to come on a long-term or permanent basis. This form should be filled in the English language and can be downloaded in PDF format.

Passport validity of six months should be remaining with one blank page. The passport must have at least two blank pages. PASSPORT PHOTOCOPY OF ALL THE PAGES, ONE CLEAR PHOTOCOPY OF THE FIRST THREE AND LAST PAGE OF YOUR PASSPORT WITH WHICH YOU ARE GIVING YOUR VISA APPLICATION FORM TO THE INDIAN CONSULATE GENERAL (USA) AND ONE CLEAR PHOTOCOPY WITH FRONT VIEW OR REAR VIEW IN CASE YOU ARE GIVING MORE THAN TWO APPLICATIONS FOR DIFFERENT DATES THEN PLEASE ALSO PROVIDE A CD WHERE ALL THE FOUR CLEAR PHOTOCOPIES WILL BE ON IT.
