Checklist of Documents
When you arrive at the airport, be sure to carry the following documents with you: your passport, a visa if required, and your airline ticket. You may also need to carry other documentation such as a boarding pass.
If you are a citizen of one of the countries listed below, you do not need a visa to visit India. If you are not a citizen of one of these countries, you will need to obtain a visa before arriving in India.
Citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Great Britain and France do not need visas for visits of up to six months. Citizens of Denmark, Norway and Iceland do not need visas for visits of up to three months.

-Citizens of Bangladesh require an e-Visa to visit India for tourism purposes only.
-Citizens of China require a valid visa for all visitors except citizens of Hong Kong SAR who are exempt from obtaining a visa for tourism purposes only.
-Citizens of Afghanistan require a valid visa for all visitors.
